TV host’s 19-year-old daughter found dead in Los Angeles apartment – family issue statement

Emman Atienza, the daughter of Filipino TV host Kim Atienza, has passed away at the young age of 19.

Her family shared this heartbreaking news on Instagram, expressing their hope that her fans would continue to embody the qualities she represented.

Emman was emerging as a star in her own right, amassing over 856,000 followers on TikTok, where she candidly discussed her mental health, including her battles with depression and anxiety. Her content received nearly 50 million likes.

In a carousel of photos posted to her mother’s Instagram, her family wrote: “It’s with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected loss of our daughter and sister, Emman.

“She filled our lives and the lives of everyone who knew her with immense joy, laughter, and love.

“Emman had a unique ability to make people feel acknowledged and understood, and she was open about her own mental health journey. Her genuine nature helped countless individuals feel less isolated.

They expressed: “In memory of Emman, we hope you embody the traits she exemplified: compassion, bravery, and a touch of extra kindness in your daily life.”

The Economic Times reports that the Official Los Angeles County Medical Examiner Coroner has confirmed the teenager’s death was a suicide by ligature hanging.

According to GMA Network, she relocated to the city in August.

Emman, the daughter of Kim Atienza, a Filipino television and weather presenter, and Felicia Hung, an entrepreneur, was sadly found deceased in her Los Angeles apartment.

Just two days prior to her passing, the 19-year-old seemed to be in great spirits in a life update video shared on her TikTok.

The video featured her dancing with friends, as well as rollerskating, skateboarding, and rock climbing. The caption read: “Life lately… does this go hard?”
