A stroke happens when blood stops moving to a section of your brain. This can damage or kill brain cells, which might change how you talk, limit your ability to move, and even alter how you think.
The British Heart Foundation says there are three kinds of strokes.
Ischaemic strokes, also called “blood clot strokes,” occur when a blood clot blocks an artery that brings blood to the brain.
Haemorrhagic strokes, known as “brain bleed strokes,” happen when a blood vessel bursts, causing bleeding in the brain. This reduces blood flow to nearby brain cells, leading to their death.
Mini-strokes, or transient ischaemic attacks (TIAs), occur when blood flow to a part of the brain is briefly interrupted, resulting in short symptoms like temporary speech loss. TIAs usually go away in seconds or minutes.

According to doctors, including certain foods in your daily diet can help prevent a stroke.

Leafy greens like spinach, kale, and swiss chard are packed with vitamin K, folate, and antioxidants. Because of this, they help control blood pressure and boost circulation, which are both important for reducing the risk of stroke.
2. Fatty Fish (Salmon, Mackerel, Sardines)
Fatty fish have omega-3 fatty acids that help decrease inflammation, lower triglycerides, and stop blood clots from forming.
3. Berries (Blueberries, Strawberries, Blackberries)
Berries provide antioxidants such as anthocyanins, which help keep blood vessels healthy and shield the brain from oxidative stress.

4. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Olive oil is a key ingredient in Mediterranean cooking. It has good fats called monounsaturated fats and polyphenols that can help lower bad cholesterol and reduce the risk of strokes.
