How many holes are really in this shirt? Most people get it wrong!
There are numerous methods to keep your mind sharp. We all desire to feel alert and full of energy, so it’s essential to keep those brain cells engaged. Personally, I often turn to crosswords and Sudoku during my free time — but recently, I’ve been diving into a variety of online brain teasers as well.
Most of us spend at least an hour each day in front of a computer. While we don’t always need to think deeply — this actually presents a great chance to give our brains a little exercise.
I’ve been doing this more frequently, and honestly, it feels fantastic!
Brain teasers are enjoyable.
Technology now plays a huge role in our everyday lives, but it wasn’t always like this. Back in school, we primarily used pen and paper. Occasionally, our teacher would distribute a brain teaser or two that we had to solve within a specific timeframe.
Those puzzles weren’t always straightforward — but that’s precisely what made them so enjoyable. I’ve always appreciated a challenge that requires thought. And the best part? It’s even more rewarding when you can solve it alongside others.
The brain teasers I cherished as a child are just as entertaining today.
Earlier this week, I stumbled upon a picture puzzle online that took me quite some time to solve.
Here’s the question: How many holes are in this shirt?

As per various websites discussing this puzzle, only roughly 1 in 7 adults manage to solve it correctly on their first attempt.
This inspired me to attempt a quick solution as well—but I figured it would be more enjoyable to provide you with some choices so you can solve it yourself:
How many holes does this shirt have?
2
4
6
8
Take a moment to truly contemplate it. There are likely more holes than you initially perceive! Allow your mind to ponder for a few seconds before making your decision.

The Answer: 8 Holes
The right answer is 8 — that’s option D!
How do we know that? Let’s break it down.
- There are two holes for the front of the shirt,
- two holes for the sleeves,
- one hole for the neck,
- and one hole at the bottom for the rest of the body.
This gives you six holes on the front of the shirt.
But here’s the tricky part: a shirt has two sides. Since it’s see-through, the same holes are present on the back as well. That adds two more holes, making the total eight!

Pretty challenging, isn’t it?
