Trump roasts reporter with savage 5-word comeback
In typical Donald Trump form, the President of the United States issued a brutally dismissive one-liner that has instantly gone viral. Following a meeting with Republican leaders on Capitol Hill, Trump took a moment to speak with the press about his alleged “beautiful bill.”
He halted his conversation with reporters.
Donald Trump is never one to hold back, and during a heated exchange on Capitol Hill this week, he delivered another viral one-liner that has the internet buzzing.
Following what he termed as a “beautiful bill” meeting with fellow Republicans on Tuesday (May 20), the former president spoke with reporters. But things took a drastic turn when one journalist posed a probing question—and disclosed his workplace.
“Andy Harris said that you didn’t adequately convince enough people to vote for the bill?” inquired the reporter.
Instead of responding, Trump inquired who the reporter worked for. When the journalist answered with “NOTUS,” the president immediately hit back:
“Who? I don’t know what it is.”. Get a real job.”
TRUMP: Who do you work for?

“Another banger, I fear.” NOTUS, a Washington-based nonprofit media organization, presents itself as “a new Washington publication from the nonprofit, nonpartisan Allbritton Journalism Institute.”
Sponsored by grants and individuals, the newspaper enjoys covering American politics with a blend of senior and emerging journalists. Still, Trump was unimpressed, and his detractors shared the same sentiment.
The footage, which went viral on Twitter (X), elicited various emotions. One user said, “Another banger, I fear.”
One individual said, “It would be nice if he spoke to Putin that way.”
Another voice said, “Trump’s dismissal of the NOTUS reporter shows his contempt for smaller media outlets.”
A third simply stated, “Classic Trump.”
A fourth said, “Trump just ended that reporter’s career in one sentence.” This is why the fake news outlets despise him. He exposes them in front of the entire country.
More viral moments. However, that wasn’t the only viral Trump incident generating headlines. If you recall, in March, the former president was embroiled in an awkward on-air situation when a microphone was extended too close to his face during a broadcast.
As the fuzzy microphone slipped across his mouth, Trump leaned back and stared at the reporter in front of him. Trump quickly added, “She just became a big story tonight…” “She just made television tonight.”
He appeared annoyed at first but then lifted his brows and chuckled, evidently delighted by the scenario.
Love him or hate him, Trump’s off-the-cuff quips and headline-making one-liners are as sharp as ever. And whether he’s criticizing media outlets or pointing out technological flaws mid-interview, one thing is certain: he always knows how to create “television tonight.”
