Kate Middleton and Prince William welcome cute new member to their family residence
Prince William and Kate Middleton are extending their family!
The couple’s favorite dog, Orla, just had a litter of puppies, according to The Sun.
“Mother and babies are doing well,” a source informed the site about the black cocker spaniel and her puppies.
Buckingham Palace has not verified the family’s accession.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, together with their three children — Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7—are enjoying the puppies so far and intend to retain them, according to the insider.
“Everyone loves news about a new royal baby, and new royal puppies are almost as exciting,” according to the insider.
The family received Orla in 2020, when James Middleton’s dog Luna gave birth to “six little healthy pups.” Kate’s younger brother announced the good news on Instagram at the time, assuring followers that “they all have lovely homes waiting for them.”
Two years later, Princess Charlotte’s 7th birthday photos showed that the family had named their dog Orla.
The name Orla, which means “golden princess” in Celtic, is especially appropriate for a regal dog.
Orla joined the family just before Kate and Prince William’s dog Lupo died in November 2020. Lupo was also a black cocker spaniel given to them as a “belated wedding present” by James in 2011, according to his novel Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life.
Years later, it was discovered that the royal couple received Lupo at a difficult moment, just as William was ready to leave on a six-week deployment in the Falkland Islands.
On April 11, Prince William and Kate released a rare photo of Orla to commemorate National Pet Day.
They commemorated the event with a never-before-seen Instagram snapshot of Orla gazing into the distance in a grassy location with trees, her sleek coat appearing damp from an expedition.
“Celebrating the animals who bring so much joy, companionship, and love into our lives this #NationalPetDay,” the Prince and Princess of Wales’ staff said on their official social media accounts on April 11, along with a paw print emoji.
“Beautiful in every way,” James proudly stated in the comments section.
Since finding her lifelong home in Buckingham Palace, Orla has attended several family occasions, including accompanying Kate to watch Prince William play in the Royal Charity Polo Cup in July 2022 and making an appearance in Princess Charlotte’s eighth birthday photos.
