Blake Shelton returned to the iconic stage on Saturday night, performing two consecutive sets. During the occasion, the country artist brought out his wife Stefani for a stunning performance, which also served as her Grand Ole Opry debut.
Stefani, 52, and Shelton, 46, sang “Nobody But You” and “Happy Anywhere.” In between songs, Stefani thanked the audience for their wonderful welcome.
“I’m so nervous, I’m so excited; this is one of those things that you don’t dream about if you’re me — and then all of a sudden I’m here with Blake Shelton,” the vocalist behind the “Cool” performer said. “It’s a miracle; I’m so grateful; thank you so much.”
The pop diva also received a standing ovation from the audience after each performance, prompting Shelton to express his pride on social media.
“I’m absolutely beside myself right now…” Congratulations, @gwenstefani, on two standing ovations for your Grand Ole Opry stage debut!!!! “That was an incredible experience to witness,” the “No Body” singer wrote.
Stefani’s performance was her first in-person appearance at the Opry since her formal debut in May 2020, when she appeared digitally from Oklahoma.
The evening also featured performances from several The Voice alumni, including season 21 runner-up Wendy Moten, season 17 winner Jake Hoot, and season 18 winner Todd Tilghman.
Saturday’s performance was only the most recent of the couple’s numerous theatrical performances together. Shelton joined Stefani for her farewell Las Vegas residency gig in November, where they sang “Happy Anywhere.”
The pair had their one wedding anniversary in July and are now preparing for the season 22 launch of The Voice on September 19, where they both serve as coaches. To commemorate the occasion, they both posted beautiful images and videos from their wedding day on Instagram.
Stefani shared a video collage of memories from their wedding set to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” The video shows Shelton ripping aside Stefani’s bridal veil before cutting to the duo dancing and kissing.
“1 year down, forever to go!” the No Doubt singer captioned the image, tagging Shelton, who replied, “I love you! Thank you for agreeing!!!!”!
Shelton celebrated their anniversary by sharing a photo from the ceremony, accompanied by the caption, “Happy anniversary to the woman who makes my world go round.” Thanks to you, @Gwen Stefani, this year has been the finest of my life. I adore you!!”! Thank you for saying yes!”
Stefani commented, “My dream man—thank you, God!!!”
