Brooklinn Khoury, a young skateboarder, experienced a life-changing moment in November 2020. It’s a story of life before and after a pit dog chose to turn her world upside down. Despite the mayhem, her spirit remained unbroken, and her love for life was unwavering. Now we’re eager to learn more about her journey.
She believed he was a friendly pit bull.
Khoury was casually lounging in the kitchen, giving love to her cousin’s 8-year-old blue-nose pit bull, Diesel. Unfortunately, Diesel, the supposedly well-behaved puppy, decided it was showtime and rushed at her unexpectedly. She kept her cool and went straight to the doctor, expecting for a rapid repair for her upper lip.
Surgeons did their best, but her wounded lip remained a difficult riddle. She pulled out her phone to make a quick appearance check, only to realize later that it had taken a photo during the turmoil. “I knew it was bad, but I didn’t know how bad,” she admitted. The photo proved to be a lifesaver, allowing the doctor to decipher the bite marks and piece together the attack.
She shared her mental and physical recovery journey online.
Now, Khoury isn’t your typical social media poster. She’s trying to be genuine and honest. In one post, she said, “I don’t know how to explain the way I feel when I look in the mirror.” It’s as if I’m a stranger embodied in someone I’ve previously known.” She was open and candid about her rehabilitation experience on Instagram. “When I was attacked, it was so hard to see what the future held for me,” she told me.
Gratitude flowed out to everyone who encouraged her to trust the process. Despite admitting that it was frightening to see her post-surgery visage, she welcomed the new version of herself with confidence.
She breaks the perfection façade on Instagram.
Speaking of courage on wheels, Khoury, the skateboarding queen, refused to let an injury stop her from living her life. Instagram became her canvas, where she displayed both the highs and the lows. Falls? Setbacks? She threw everything out there, unwilling to hide her reality. She rejects the idealized image imposed by social media and decides to accept herself.
She never allowed her injury to hold her back.
She wouldn’t let her injury defeat her. She celebrated her femininity even though she was still enduring surgery. Khoury shared her spontaneous excitement with the globe while visiting Sephora to try out new lip glosses.
Her love story is also inspiring.
Life is getting better, as she is now dating Chloé Lukasiak, a Dance Moms graduate. One year later, Khoury revealed the truth with a heartfelt message: “This year, because of you, has been, by far, the greatest year of my life.”
She is using her personal platform to help others.
Khoury isn’t sharing her journey for fun. She is using her platforms to aid others. She opened the floodgates on Instagram, inviting anyone who was experiencing difficulties. “If you are going through something physically or mentally or just need someone to talk to, I am here,” she told the audience. Khoury appears to view life as a skate park, complete with twists, turns, and the occasional pit bull clash.
