There, he found an Art Deco dressing table labeled “free.” The previous owners had no idea that this item was far from being ready to be thrown away. Taylor, a skilled woodworker, saw potential where others saw junk. Despite its worn appearance, he was confident he could restore it to its former glory. To the untrained eye, this dressing table might seem hopeless. Yes, it was scratched, with broken handles and terrible paint—but Taylor knew better. He began by disassembling the item, including the built-in clock, preparing to breathe new life into it. His restoration process began with using a heat gun and scraper to remove the yellow paint from the drawer fronts without damaging the wood underneath.
