Ever since his wife Marjorie started spreading rumors on the internet that she had cheated on him, Steve Harvey has had a crazy few weeks.
The couple’s chef and bodyguard were allegedly the objects of Marjorie Harvey’s adulterous liaison with her renowned husband, according to shocking rumors that surfaced in late August. The claims also stated that Harvey was thereafter pursuing a $200 million divorce settlement.
Although no official party went on record to confirm the adultery charges, it’s anyone’s guess as to where they originated. Nevertheless, Harvey and his wife responded swiftly to dispel the rumors as untrue.
Days after the accusations started to circulate, Harvey stated, “I’m fine,” when speaking at Invest Fest in Atlanta. Marjorie is OK. I have no idea what you guys are doing, but find something else to do; we’re good. Please, Lord, show mercy.
“There are times when you want to reply, but I don’t have time for rumors and gossip,” the TV presenter continued. “God has been kind to me.” I’m still radiant.
“My husband and I don’t usually stop to address all the foolishness and lies that have been spread about us,” Marjorie, who has been married to Steve since 2007, said on Instagram in an attempt to correct the record.
Nonetheless, great things come with great responsibility. I realize that I have some obligation to people who might not be as powerful as we are because of my platform.
But even with the Harveys’ categorical denials and their joint position that there has been no adultery, it seems that some people are still unconvinced.
That’s probably why Steve rushed to categorically declare, “You’re not going to split us up,” denouncing the damaging allegations as nothing more than idle chatter. He did so once more, but with more force this time.
This week, the 66-year-old remarked, “This woman got in the hole and built this with me,” during an appearance on The Steve Harvey Morning Show. She took nothing by theft! My girl is one of the greatest women I’ve ever met, so I’m weary of you guys bragging about her.
“Our two-handed circle is more tightly knit. I appreciate you taking the time to do that. We won’t be divided by you! We’re not going anywhere, and she is not at all what you claimed. The nicest woman I know is her. You are free to react anyway you like to the fact that I am now standing up for her.
Harvey was “scared” of Marjorie, according to Shirley Strawberry, Steve’s co-host, in a chat that was leaked and revealed details about the relationship.
Later, in a social media video, Strawberry was compelled to apologize to the Harveys.
“I wasn’t attempting to add to the extremely complicated situation that you and Marjorie are currently facing. However, it appears that everyone is after you, including myself, given the revelation of these videos, she added.
In actuality, though, the tapes are unrelated to your relationship with Marjorie. I was simply rambling on in what I believed to be a private conversation. I regret. I’m in horrible pain.
