“Today, we’ll share the story of a noble act by a Polish man who worked as a civil engineer in the city of Lubaczów. One day, he learned that an 80-year-old grandmother named Aniela was living in an old, dilapidated house in the forest, without electricity or water. Krzysztof Kopeć, along with his wife, brought her food and clothing. We can only describe what happened next as a real-life fairy tale.
The first impression of the house where the grandmother lived was far from good. The elderly woman’s dwelling resembled a witch’s hut rather than a human home. The house was devoid of gas or electricity, revealing only concrete and dirt on the floor. With only one window, the house was always dim.
The grandmother had to rely on social assistance, which came in the form of food, clothing, and household items. Krzysztof and his wife wanted to help the unfortunate elderly woman.
Their professional skills proved helpful for their idea. The husband was a civil engineer, and his wife was an architect. They created a plan to renovate the old house and posted a message on social media to raise funds for the repair.
The grandmother’s story touched people from different cities and even countries. Krzysztof created a special support group, which many people joined. Here, like-minded individuals discussed all the work-related matters.
The house renovation took only five days.
The team of builders, hired by Krzysztof, insulated the walls, redid the facade, and replaced the roof and floors. They also laid new tiles and installed the necessary furniture.
Volunteers brought food, clothing, and essential cleaning supplies to the construction site.
During the renovation, the homeowner moved out, allowing the workers to work at any convenient time.
When Aniela returned home, she didn’t recognize her house. What she saw moved her so much that she couldn’t hold back her tears. Could this really happen in real life?
We wouldn’t be exaggerating if we said that the Kopeć couple is people with a capital ‘P’. Of course, without the help of kind-hearted people, the outcome of this story could have been entirely different.
During this time, Aniela became very close to the Kopeć family. Now, her ‘adopted’ grandchildren often visit her.
The once lonely elderly woman now has a new home with caring loved ones.”
