Hollywood actor Sam Neill, 76, recently provided an update on his fight with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare type of blood cancer. Following unsuccessful chemotherapy, his doctor switched him to a different drug that has kept him in remission for over a year. Neill now requires bi-weekly infusions for life, although the effectiveness of the drug will eventually wear off.
Despite the challenging outlook, Neill maintains a positive attitude. He shared that his treatment impacts his weekends but expressed gratitude for being alive, working, and visiting beautiful places like York.
Previously, Neill stated that while he isn’t afraid of death, he finds it frustrating because he still has many goals to achieve. He emphasized that he doesn’t want people to focus on his cancer, saying he is more interested in living life fully.
Although Neill keeps his personal life private, he has recently been linked to Australian political journalist Laura Tingle. He has two children from past relationships. Born in the UK and raised in New Zealand, Neill is well-loved by fans in Australia and is best known for his role in “Jurassic Park.” He has had a significant presence in Australian cinema and television for over fifty years.
In the 1980s, Neill was a potential candidate to replace Roger Moore as James Bond, though the role eventually went to Timothy Dalton.
