Shannen Doherty, the actress, has been open about her cancer diagnosis and treatment; nevertheless, she is now revealing some tragic news. Her Instagram post revealing the news said, “January 5th, my CT scan showed Mets in my brain.”
She is now undergoing radiation therapy to treat her brain cancer. On January 12th, she had her first radiation treatment. “My fear is obvious,” she explained. “Since I suffer from extreme claustrophobia, my life was quite busy.”
In a letter, Shannen Doherty thanked her doctors, stating, “I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr. Amin Mirahdi & the talented technologists at Cedar Sinai,” even if she was going through a scary time.
“But that anxiety, that turbulence, that timing is what cancer may look like.” She included a video of herself getting radiation along with the message, showing that she didn’t try to disguise her dread at the moment.
In 2015, Doherty was first diagnosed with cancer. Her diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer was made. In 2017, Shannen Doherty underwent chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and one mastectomy before coming into remission.

Shannen Doherty postponed telling the world that her illness had returned in 2019. In 2020, Doherty revealed to the public that she was presently in stage 4 of breast cancer. Now that it has been determined that Doherty’s cancer has spread to her brain, her condition is much worse, and her husband isn’t helping her either.
Shannen Doherty announced in April 2023 that, three months after discovering she had brain cancer and beginning treatment, she was divorcing Kurt Iswarienko, her husband of eleven years. He and his publicist appear to have been “intimately involved.”
Many of her well-known friends sent comments on her Instagram post after learning of her cancer diagnosis. “Rooting for you, my irreplaceable friend,” Kevin Smith wrote. “You’ve always been a fierce fighter, so it’s reasonable that you get scared from time to time. But after those trials are over, let that unshakeable Shannen Doherty spirit prevail once more.”
“This is a lot,” Selma Blair stated. “There’s a lot to manage here. And I hope that in your worst moments, all of the knowledge of intelligent peace will come to you. To know you’re in our care. “Love, love, love!”
