Melania Trump makes striking fashion statement in yellow and pink at the State Banquet, while Queen Camilla dazzles in sapphire tiara: PHOTO
Queen Camilla is wearing another beautiful piece of headgear from the royal collection to a magnificent state supper at Windsor Castle.
The Queen, 78, joined members of the British royal family on September 17 to honor President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump on their official visit to the United Kingdom. The ceremony was also attended by King Charles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and other royals.
Queen Camilla and King Charles stood for an official photo with President Trump and Melania, revealing their attire for the ceremonial evening.
Queen Camilla completed her evening outfit with a sapphire and diamond tiara, adhering to the state banquet’s white-tie dress rules. The item suited Fiona Clare’s royal blue silk Moroccan embroidered dress.
Melania, 55, donned a yellow off-the-shoulder dress with long sleeves, along with a statement pink belt and dangling earrings studded with green diamonds.
The Queen last wore a tiara in July at a state luncheon for France’s President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron. For the event, she donned a sapphire and diamond tiara, necklace, earrings, and bracelet from Queen Elizabeth’s sapphire suite.
The occasion took place at Windsor Castle, as did the state dinner for the French state visit. Although Buckingham Palace in London is the customary venue for these celebrations, it is now undergoing renovations.
Princess Kate and Prince William were the first members of the royal family to greet the Trumps on Wednesday. They then took their guests to the ceremonial greeting from King Charles and Queen Camilla, followed by lunch and a special exhibition of Royal Collection treasures at Windsor Castle.
On Thursday, Queen Camilla and Melania will explore Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle.
