Kellie Pickler Left The Audience ‘In Tears’ After Her Incredible Performance Of ‘I Wonder’

There has been a remarkable amount of talent that has emerged from American Idol, and Kelly Pickler is definitely one of the top contenders. Although she didn’t win, finishing in sixth place during season five, her journey didn’t stop there.

Kelly showcased her stunning voice and a warm personality that made fans feel at ease right from the beginning. It wasn’t long after the American Idol season wrapped up that she transitioned to country music and made significant strides.

Kelly gained recognition in the country music scene, and by 2007, she was invited to the CMA awards. At this event, she delivered a performance that truly captured the audience’s attention. It was a heartfelt performance that highlighted just how much of a country star she had evolved into.

When she began, she performed ‘I Wonder,’ a song that reflects the pain of being abandoned as a child. The lyrics resonate with her own experiences of loss, as she longed for her mother, who was absent during crucial moments in her life.

She sang: “I think about how it ain’t fair/That you weren’t there to braid my hair/Like mothers do/You weren’t around to cheer me on/Help me dress for my high school prom.”

As the song approached its last chorus, the crowd was already in tears. She was also fighting to keep her tears in check, but eventually, she couldn’t hold them back anymore. The audience encouraged her, clearly touched by the emotions she was showing right in front of them.

Interestingly, there are reports that her mother attempted to reconnect with her after the show. You can check it out for yourself in this video:
