When the 11-year-old boy started to perform, judges froze. After receiving insults, he transformed into a rock legend…
Olly Pearson, 11, astonished the judges of Britain’s Got Talent with his guitar talents on Thursday night’s episode, belting out amazing rock solos, but the kid already has big goals.
Following his victory on Britain’s Got Talent, schoolboy Olly Pearson has set his eyes on getting the King to rock.
During tonight’s performance, the 11-year-old captivated judge Amanda Holden with his exceptional guitar skills, earning her coveted golden buzzer. His first large event gave him a taste for performing, and he discussed his grandiose hopes of singing for royalty and headlining Wembley Stadium, which seats 90,000 people. “I’ve heard the king likes rock music,” Olly told the Mirror.
“I have the ability to excite him with rock music.” I’d be delighted to play for him at the Royal Variety Show. I watched my favorite band, AC/DC, perform at Wembley Stadium last year and would love to do so again one day.”
In his BGT performance, Olly stated he overcame his early anxieties to go out on stage and loved every minute of it, playing epic guitar solos to AC/DC, Van Halen, and Queen. “It was just those rows and rows of people—it was just amazing,” he replied with a smile. “It just felt like I was on top of the universe. Every time I perform in front of a large crowd, I want to play for more people.”
Olly picked up a guitar at the age of seven and began strumming with his grandfather Lee over Zoom during the Covid shutdown, rapidly demonstrating his innate talent. “I always had his guitar around the house, and then Olly decided he wanted to play,” Lee told me. “We had a lot of fun with it. The talent was there.” “He was teaching Olly guitar while we were trying to teach a 70-year-old how to use Zoom—it was quite tricky!” Simon’s dad cracked up.
He started playing at guitar shows and small places after constantly practicing. Olly is a rock fanatic who owns over 20 guitars and enjoys listening to legendary bands such as Metallica and Guns N’ Roses.
Dad Simon says he’s been a fan of rock music since he was a baby. “I remember him dancing to Girls Girls Girls by Motley Crue when we were at soft play when he was around two or three,” according to him.
With his long hair and headband, Olly embodies the rock style, drawing inspiration from some of the biggest stars in music. “I love Slash and Jimi Hendrix!” And Eddie Van Halen,” Olly said. “I’m going to see Guns and Roses at Villa Park this year.”
Olly, who lives in Wrexham with his mother Sarah, father Simon, and sister Heather, has promised to make his next performance even greater. “It will be louder. “Better music, better moves, and better jumps,” he remarked.
Olly thinks that winning and singing at the Royal Variety Performance “would be even bigger than a dream; that would be so cool!” He promised to pamper his grandfather if he won the £250,000 prize: “I’d buy him his dream guitar, a Fender Starcaster.”
