Tessa, a courageous young girl born with a rare condition called complete congenital arhinia, has become an inspiration for embracing diverse beauty.
Despite being born without a nose, Tessa radiates enthusiasm and resilience. Complete congenital arhinia, affecting only 100 people globally, results in the absence of nose development in the womb.
Tessa’s parents, Grainne and Nathan Evans, discovered her facial deformity during an ultrasound, prompting a mix of emotions. Despite the challenges, the Evans family from County Derry, Northern Ireland, is determined to provide Tessa with the best care and support.
Tessa underwent tracheotomy and cataract surgery shortly after birth and, at two years old, received cosmetic surgery to lay the foundation for a future artificial nose.
The hope is that, with time, doctors will use a 3D printer to construct a nose for Tessa.
