The old fridge stood by the trash—thought it was junk 🥶❌ Then I saw what my neighbor turned it into. Hands busy, sun hitting it, and inside—something I didn’t expect 🙈🤯 Went straight home, found one for myself. Showing what he made in the article below 👇🔥
If you have an old refrigerator that you’re thinking of throwing away or selling, don’t rush!
You might like this idea—it’s not only clever but also very useful. Especially for those who own a garden plot or a country house.
Turning an Old Refrigerator into Something New
The first thing you need to do is remove everything inside, leaving only the frame and the door. Take out the freezer section and cut an opening in it to allow air to pass through freely.
Next, drill a hole at the bottom of the fridge body. Take out all the insulation material from the walls.
Adding Glass
Don’t remove the fridge door completely. Instead, cut an opening in it and put glass in the hole.
Secure the glass tightly, so it doesn’t move. Use foam sealant around the edges, and lightly melt it with a blowtorch so it holds better.
Installing Metal Mesh
The last step is to cover all the openings you made with fine metal mesh. This will let air move through the dryer, but bugs won’t get inside.
Now you have a homemade solar dryer! It’s perfect for drying fruits, vegetables, herbs, meat, fish, and more.
It’s simple, handy, and very practical. An old fridge turned into a must-have tool for your garden or cottage.
