Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis Presley, died suddenly on January 12, 2023, at the age of 54, after being transported to the hospital after being discovered comatose in her California home. She had been found in the early morning hours of that day.
Lisa Marie Presley was one of the most famous children in the world when she was first born on February 1, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee. Her famous parents were Elvis and Priscilla Presley. She was born precisely nine months after her famous parents had a quick ceremony in their room at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas to officially join their lives together as husband and wife.
Following her father’s passing in 1977, she was named as a beneficiary in her father’s final will and testament, along with her great-grandmother Minnie and grandpa Vernon. Her father had predeceased her in 1977. Sadly, Vernon passed away in 1979, and Minnie followed him a year later. Because of this, Lisa was the sole beneficiary of Elvis’ trust who was still alive when she passed away. She became the inheritor of her father’s wealth in 1993, which at the time had reached a value of one hundred million dollars.
Since she was Elvis’s only daughter, her children – she had a total of four — were his only grandkids. Since she was the only daughter of Elvis, she was also his only granddaughter. Lisa’s first two children, Riley Keough and her late son Benjamin Keough, were born to her and her ex-husband Danny Keough. Her second set of children, Harper and Finley Lockwood, were co-parented with her first ex-husband, Michael Lockwood.
Lisa embarked on a career in the music industry, much like her father before her, and soon discovered her own unique voice in the process. She went on to record a couple albums and several singles, all of which contributed to the widespread acclaim she received. In addition to her work as a musician, though, Lisa has spent a significant portion of her life volunteering for a variety of charitable organizations, including the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation.

Lisa had been married three other times at that point. Her first husband was a man named Keough, and they were parents to two children together. In the 2000s, she was also married to Nicolas Cage, and her relationship with American musician Lockwood resulted in the birth of two children.
However, the connection that Lisa had with Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, is perhaps the one that will be remembered the most. Michael and Lisa were finally able to tie the wedding in 1993. Their marriage would end after a total of less than two years, and some people believe it was all an elaborate charade for publicity purposes. According to the book “Biography,” the formal marriage certificate was issued on May 26, 1994, and it was issued in the Dominican Republic after a private ceremony.
According to The Mirror, the pair even appeared on television to refute claims that they were married for reasons other than real love. Jackson’s voice rose in indignation as he said, “like we’re faking this?”
“How are you going to be able to fake this twenty-four hours a day, sleeping with somebody and waking up with somebody else?” “I’m not going to marry somebody for any reason other than the fact that I fell in love with them,” Lisa said. “That’s the only reason I’m going to do it.”
Later on in the same year, Lisa reaffirmed her love for Jackson as well as their relationship.
“Because I am head over heels in love with Michael, I have decided to devote the rest of my life to becoming his wife. “I understand what he’s going through and I’m behind him 100 percent,” Lisa Marie’s statement at the time said. “We are both excited about the prospect of starting a family.”
Despite this, the couple filed for divorce in 1996, claiming their inability to resolve their differences as the cause.
After some time had passed, Lisa continued to work on her songs. She has issued three studio albums, titled “To Whom It May Concern” in 2003, “Now What” in 2005, and “Storm & Grace” in 2012. The Recording Industry Association of America awarded the first album its highest possible gold certification. In addition, she has produced a number of songs that were successes, including “Lights Out,” “Dirty Laundry,” “In the Ghetto,” “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet,” and “I Love You Because.”
Since the publication of the critically acclaimed biopic “Elvis,” in which Austin Butler portrayed the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Lisa, who had made an appearance at the red carpet premiere of the movie, had been rather quiet. This is one of the reasons why many people were taken aback by her untimely demise.
On the morning of January 12, 2023, Lisa reportedly went into cardiac arrest and was transported to a hospital in Los Angeles, where she was removed after arriving at the hospital. According to individuals close to the situation who spoke with TMZ, Lisa was declared dead when she arrived at the hospital.
It is believed that her staff discovered her unconscious at the apartment she shared in Calabasas, California. Keough, the woman’s exe-husband, was there at the site of the accident and even performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on her before emergency personnel came and took over for him. During the process of resuscitating her, she received at least one dosage of epinephrine that was delivered. It was even stated that the emergency medical personnel were able to restore the patient’s pulse before taking her to the hospital.
Priscilla, Lisa’s mother, had a representative post a message on her Facebook page confirming the devastating news. The post was made by the representative.
“Lisa Marie, my cherished daughter, was taken to the hospital in an emergency. She is now getting the highest quality of treatment. We ask that you pray for her and for all of us in our family. We are aware of the prayers being sent from all across the globe, and we ask that you respect our need for privacy at this difficult time.
In a second statement to the news organization, Priscilla said that she and her family were “shocked” and “devastated” by the untimely passing of her daughter. They went on to say that they were “profoundly grateful” for the love, support, and prayers of their legion of devoted followers, but that they were asking solitude at this very trying time.
Priscilla, Lisa’s mother, and her children Riley, Harper, and Finley are the only members of Lisa’s family who are still alive.
Additional information on Lisa’s demise and the circumstances surrounding it were disclosed by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner more than six months after her dying. The cause of death was discovered to be sequelae of small intestinal obstruction in a report that was issued on July 13. A condition that is described as the condition that is the result of a prior sickness or injury is characterized as a sequelae. According to the Mayo Clinic, an obstruction of the small bowel is “a blockage that keeps food or liquid from passing through your small intestine or large intestine.” Hernias, certain drugs, and other disorders, along with “fibrous bands of tissue (adhesions) in the abdomen that form after surgery,” may all be potential causes of adhesions.
According to the autopsy report on Lisa’s death, the singer had acquired adhesions during bariatric surgery, also known as stomach stapling, which caused the blockage, which was described as a “strangulated small bowel.”
According to the article, this is a recognized long-term consequence of the sort of operation that was performed.
In addition, it was discovered that the celebrity had therapeutic quantities of oxycodone as well as buprenorphine, which is used to treat opiate addictions. According to TMZ, there were also tiny amounts of the psychiatric medication quetiapine present. Her residence was searched, but no illegal substances or drug paraphernalia were discovered there, and a toxicology test on her urine came up negative.
The autopsy report revealed that Lisa underwent a cosmetic treatment some months before her passing, during which she was given narcotics to treat the pain. A history of “overmedicating” as well as alcohol and drug misuse was mentioned in the article.
In recent years, Lisa has been quite open about her personal battle with addiction. In recent years, she provided a preface for the book “The United States of Opioids: A Prescription for Liberating a Nation in Pain” which was written by Harry Nelson.
“I am not without flaws. My dad was far from perfect, but then again, nobody is. According to CNN, she wrote that “it’s what you do with it after you learn it and then you try to help others with it.” “It’s what you do with it after you learn it.” “It is time for us to put an end to the shame that is associated with addiction.”
