On the set of The Morning Show, Jennifer Aniston was covered in synthetic oil (James Devaney/GC Images).
Many users appeared perplexed by the video, failing to recognize that it was shot on location for the TV show.
“The people protesting big oil threw oil on Jennifer Aniston and she looks confused and horrified,” a Twitter user stated. Why do you suppose they were aiming at her?
“By whom, and why did they do it?” One more was added.
You can hear the word “cut” being shouted at the very end of the clip, though, which is a strong sign that the sequence is planned and intended for the series.
A second commenter stated, “It’s obviously acting.”
“My guy, that’s from the show.” A third said, “There’s a ‘cut’ at the end of the longer version of the video, and everyone breaks.”
“The fact some people thought this was real is very concerning,” concluded the fourth person.
The Morning Show’s fourth season is now in production; although an Apple TV+ release date has not yet been announced, it is anticipated to stream in 2025.
